What if you want to create an entry but you don’t really want it to go to a website when you click it. Maybe you wish it could do something else like, make a phone call or send an email or access a file or something else. Passfindr can do that too!! When you enter an item you can put a URL in the location box and it will take you there when you go back to it but https:// is not the only thing that can be placed in the box. Let’s take a look at what happens when you click into the empty “Location” box:

You get a drop-down menu with multiple options. We’ll just look at two and the first is the “tel:” scheme. I have a customer named Joe Client. I put Joe Client in the name field and his number, tel:+1 555-322-1234 in the location field and let’s say Joe is a customer so I put customer in the “Tags” field. When I search for “customer”, Joe’s name will appear as a blue link as with any search. If I click on that link from my phone or other enabled device, it will CALL Joe Smith. If he has a website or if we have files in his cloud storage, we can still create a link in the description field and go there too! Another useful scheme is the “mailto:” scheme. If I had enter Joe’s email in the location field as the following scheme – mailto:joesmith@email.com and click his name in the search results, Passfindr will open the email client and insert Joe’s address and it’s ready to send an email immediately.

So, if you can create an entry that will call the client, access his website, access his files in his cloud storage, allow you to enter all of his data in a format of your choosing, allow you to send him an email, allow you to take unlimited notes for the client and, since that data is private, allow you to encrypt all of it with high level security, and have a reminder system to keep you on top of everything, then you have actually created your own CRM (customer relationship management) tool formatted and searchable the way YOU want it from any device and without the need for syncing.
